A delivery fee may apply (for longer rentals often none), and the exact amount is always in your offer before you book. You get the same conditions as in Split: no credit card, no deposit on the partner's own cars and full insurance with nothing to pay for damage. From Zadar it's a short drive to Nin's sandy beaches, Paklenica National Park and the islands, and about 2 hours 15 minutes to Plitvice Lakes.

Local Driving Guide
Everything you need to know before you set off.
Parking in Zadar
The old town peninsula is mostly pedestrian. Use the large paid car parks just outside the walls, such as Ravnice, and pay at the machine or with an app – SMS payment often doesn’t work with foreign numbers.
Fuel Stations
Plentiful in town and along the motorway; self-service is standard and cash or card both work.
Toll Roads
Motorways are tolled. Until early 2027 you pay at the booths; then Croatia switches to an electronic, barrier-free system – ask the partner how it works for your dates.
Traffic Tips
In summer, arrive early for island ferries from Gaženica port – car queues form well before departure.
Speed Limits
50 km/h in towns, 90 km/h on open roads, 110 km/h on expressways and 130 km/h on motorways, unless signs say otherwise.
Electric Charging
Fast chargers at the A1 motorway service areas and in town; plan a stop on longer drives.
Things to Visit

Sea Organ & Greeting to the Sun
Organ pipes played by the waves and a solar light show on the waterfront at sunset.
St Donatus & the Roman Forum
A 9th-century round church beside the remains of the Roman forum.
Kolovare Beach
The city’s main beach, an easy walk from the old town.
Kornati National Park
A maze of bare islands, best seen on a day trip by boat.
Pag Island
Moon-like landscapes, beaches and Pag cheese, reached by bridge.
Ugljan & Pašman
Car ferries go from Zadar’s Gaženica port to Ugljan and from Biograd to Pašman; taking the car is allowed at no extra charge.
